Yabasic implements the most common and simple elements of the BASIC language. It comes with goto/gosub, with various loops, with user defined subroutines and libraries. Yabasic runs under Haiku, Unix and Windows, it is small, open source and free. This initial version of yabasic for Haiku will not display the 'graphic-window', but we have yab for that, so it's no big loss. The intention behind having a separate yabasic package is to have a broadly compatible version of BASIC that is specialized for writing command-line utilities, without the problems of compiling yab with ncurses support. This is the most recent version of yabasic I was able to compile on Haiku without major surgery. Nevertheless, investigation continues and later versions may see the reintroduction of the "graphic-window". In the meantime, all references to graphic routines have been removed from the help file.
