MusicTerm

Nobody reads these, I don't think, but
I wanted to post about this anyway.
The other day it was mentioned on an
Atari board that there are ATASCII
terminals for the Commodore. The first
one that I was able to try was called
AtariTerm, and it was probably the
worst terminal program I've ever used,
once I got it to work. There are
probably other terminals that were more
of a pain in the butt to GET to work,
but they were usually OK once you got
going. Well with AtariTerm, it actually
broke the longer you used it, turning
the characters into garbage after a
while and making you restart it. It
also only had ATASCII and ASCII modes.
Oh yeah, it was hardcoded at 300 baud,
too.
Right now I'm trying the second one I
was able to run, MusicTerm 1.4. It is
MUCH better as it does ATASCII, ASCII,
and PETSCII (just 40 columns). Also, it
lets you go up to 1200 baud :). Still
hard coded to use the user port, but
that's OK for me since I have a user
port modem. The ATASCII character set
on this program is much better looking,
too.
So, kinda neat, you can hit up all
three kinds of BBSes, C=, Atari, and
PC/other, as long as they look OK in 40
columns, all from one terminal program.
Unfortunately, it does not have a
dialing directory.
