Hello,I'm new here and it's been ages since I tried this whole BBS stuff the last time.
I'm still trying to figure out how it all works, but I already like it.
It's so retro and lightweight, unlike that modern web stuff that you can't really use without at least one adblocker anymore.
Did I miss anything or is it correct that this is the first post here on that whole server? :D
    Well,so let me introduce myself...
I'm Niklas, I've been working with free software for years and I'm writing this on my Haiku computer.
I started with using free operating systems many years ago when I ordered a laptop with Windows 7 and they accidentally delivered it with Linux Ubuntu.
I think I used Arch Linux for the longest time, but recently I try to move away from Linux because I found some other operation systems that I like much more, and I dislike some of the more or less recent developments around Linux (most notably systemd,Flatpak,Snap and Wayland).
I like Haiku so much because it has the best desktop experience I've ever seen and it's fully optimized for this use case, not some hybrid that you can also put on a server or a phone and that has to make compromises because of that.
After having programmed websites and webapps for the largest part of my life,I'm currently trying to learn C++ and programming native applications for Haiku.
I always have way too many projects for my limited free time so that it takes a long time to finish anything, but at least I try ;)
Besides my activities in the free software community,I work full-time as a salesperson at a large food retail.
