  • screen server implimentation

    So i have a screensaver that i want to kick in when the users is inactive for x minutes.

    The only way i got this to impliment correctly is to have an animated prompt and it has a counter that then fires off the ss after a certain count.

    Is there a better way to execute this script when the user times out?

    I tried having it launch in text.dat but the results were not favorable.
    It seems like my animated prompt approach works better.

    I'm not usre what animation has to do with it. If you want to do your own input timeout, then you you need to call inkey() rather than getkey() basically. You don't need to animate anything.

    Yeah, but i did. And it runs inkey to get input or keep going.
    I made that script like 24 years ago so that was the next thing i tried.
    I knew i could do it that way because i ran other bbs utilities with it.
