  • SlyEdit (ICE Style) problem

    While reading messages using DDMsgReasder and trying to reply I can't quote the orignal message, nothing happens when I use Ctrl-Q. The Ctrl-A, and Ctrl-Z work fine. I'm using SlyEdit v1.92e (ICE Style), Synchronet 3.21b, Linux Mint. Any thoughts?

    When you select to reply to a message in DDMsgReader and SlyEdit opens, check to make sure there's a QUOTES.TXT file in the node directory for the node you're logged into. If there's no QUOTES.TXT file, that could indicate possibly incorrect permissions on that directory (Synchronet can't write to it).

    Or, if you're not logged in with the sysop account, it could be that the option to allow message quoting is disabled for the sub-board (SCFG > Message Areas > (choose the message group) > Message Sub-boards > (sub-board) > Toggle Options > Allow Message Quoting).

    Other than that, off the top of my head, I'm unsure what else might be causing that..

    There IS a quotes.txt in the node directory that I'm logged into.

    What terminal program are you using? Your terminal program might have Ctrl-Q bound to do something else, so it might not be sending the Ctrl-Q code to the BBS.
