I agree - EXCEPT - using 'speech to text' to ME is easier on a
phone. :-)
Heh, I have enough trouble using Vi with my fingers. Notepad++ is my editor choice.

That was my editor of choice on the Windows machines at work. For the
x windows environment here at home, I usually use medit or
featherpad.

I like featherpad pretty well, but have mostly switched to Mousepad. I think it's even better than featherpad, and I like the "Cobalt" color
scheme you can select. Give it a look, I bet you'll like it.

I agree, so long as it understands your speech. :D What gets me is
when I say words like "were" or "we're", or "your" and "you're" -- it *always* picks the wrong one. You would think the context would cause
it to guess correctly, but it always chooses the contraction when it should choose the word, and vise-versa. Always.
Also several words it just never gets right. It works good enough for
a short text but I wouldn't have wanted to try speaking this message
and expecting it to get it right. :D

If I get too fast with my southern talk, it fails -- but if I'm fairly
slow and enunciate correctly it's 99% there. Enough that my friends
can read it fo net ick lee :-)
